Cycling around the UK Mainland for Help A London Child

In July I'm setting off from Central London on a ride to raise money for Capital 95.8FM’s Help A London Child. Aiming to complete an epic challenge by cycling an average of over one hundred miles every day (gulp!), the journey will take me via all the major towns and cities around the UK Mainland coastline before (hopefully) wearily returning to Central London after cycling 3,000 miles, about one month later.

I firmly believe that giving young people opportunity through sport improves the outlook for those with greater challenges during their formative years and enables them to pass the benefit of positive experiences onto future generations. None of us should take our health and physical wellbeing for granted and those of us in a position to do anything for those with less advantages in life than ourselves should do so, no matter how little.

Help A London Child was founded by Capital Radio 95.8FM with Lord Attenborough CBE back in 1975 and does fantastic work for London’s less advantaged children and youngsters. In Lord Attenborough’s words:

“Less advantaged kids don’t have less imagination, just less opportunity to express it.”

The ride commences on 20^th July from the Capital FM and Help A London Child HQ in Leicester Square, London and will head to Dover and then anti-clockwise, all the way around the mainland coastline covering an average of just over 100 miles per day, before arriving back in London.
