Story

---------------------------------------

Hi all,

Just a very quick message to say a massive THANK-YOU on behalf of Team Sparta for your support and donations as we took on The Tough Guy 2010 - Nettle Warrior Challenge.

We all (just about!) got round in 3hours30ish,  enjoying electrocuted torture chambers, freezing cold swamps and all manner of other fabulous course features designed to push your endurance to the very limit en route to completion...

So - with final donations in, I am pleased to say that with your help, we raised a whopping £2242 for our 3 designated charities - this is a tremendous effort so THANK-YOU once again for your support and encouragement!

Yours from recovery (still!) in the medic tent,

Team Sparta ;0) x

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Sunday the 25th July, we 13 Spartans will be entering the 2010 Tough Guy Nettle Warriors Challenge!

What is Tough Guy?

The original, held in Perton near Wolverhampton, is organised in England by former British Army Officer Billy Wilson (Mr Mouse), who claims nobody has ever finished all the course according to his extremely demanding rules. Taking place in July, Tough Guy Nettle Warrior consists of an eight country mile run including an assault course and two laps of the killing fields. Running the course involves risking barbed wire, cuts, scrapes, burns, hypothermia, acrophobia, claustrophobia, sprains, twists, joint dislocation and broken bones - those who apply, have to sign the infamous death disclaimer - this is not your average endurance event

So, we would love your support - we have set up three pages to reflect the causes supported by our Team - any amount to any one of these is greatly received ;0)

Yours from deep in our training camp,

Team Sparta x

He and Marine David Marsh were on patrol in the Kajaki vicinity of Helmand Province when their vehicle was caught in an explosion. Despite the best efforts of the medical team at Camp Bastion, both men died from their wounds

Lieutenant John Thornton was one of two men serving with 40 Commando Royal Marines who were killed in an explosion while on active duty in Southern Afghanistan on 30 March, 2008.

John lived his dream and died doing the job he loved.
