Story
I am raising money for Burning Nights CRPS to those suffering like my wife Amy.
Amy has suffered with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) since 2018 following total hip replacement surgery.
This will be my 2nd fundraising campaign for Burning Nights, after running the Liverpool marathon in 2021 and raising over £1000. I appreciate and thank everyone who donated to that and would welcome any more donations for this new challenge.
I am going to run/walk/hike 23 half marathons in 2023. This will be a mixture of organised events and locally mapped out routes. To put this into context, since I took up running in 2016 I have done 25 runs of 13.1 miles or further in training and organised events. So I will almost double this by the end of the year. It will be a long hard challenge but nothing compared to the daily struggle that those suffering with CRPS go through.
**UPDATE**
Following some delays in my 2023 challenge I will now be completing it as part of my marathon training at the start of 2024. I will still be completing the 23 half marathons within 12 months, as my first one of 2023 was in March. This will be a lifelong ambition of mine to run my 1st London marathon at the 6th attempt at applying through the ballot, and my 2nd ever marathon.
