Our team of 8 runners will be taking part in a 24hour race comprising of 10k laps. The specially prepared course is all off road and is made up of varied surfaces including grass tracks, farmland paths and wooded areas. Th venue is catton park, staffordshire and the event starts on 31st July and finishes on the 1st August. More details on the race can be found here: www.tr24.co.uk . Our team is made up of employees from the East of England Ambulance service and we are all Paramedics based at Southend and Rayleigh Abulance stations.

For this gruelling challenge we have chosen to raise money for a fantastic charity, the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust. As frontline ambulance staff we have all at times had to deal with, albeit briefly, patients with brain cancer and the devastating effect it can have on the sufferers and their loved ones. Unfortunately, one of our team has also experienced the pain associated with the loss of two close family members in the last six years to this poorly understood disease. The Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust works tirelessly supporting research into different types of brain tumour as well as providing much needed support to patients and their families.

Please help by supporting us and contributing anything you can to this worthy cause.
