22.12.13 - BREAKING NEWS - WITH SUCH GENEROUS SUPPORT FROM YOU - I HAVE ALREADY SURPASSED MY TARGET!
Thank you so much to all donors for an incredible level of support! You can still donate, and add a suggestion, but now I'm up to 50 drawings, I can't guarantee that I'll get to do your drawing in the 24 hours, sorry!
Following the success of our first interactive 24 hour Drawathon in 2010 where we raised £1,700 for an orphanage in Romania. I am now sharpening my finest pencils for Drawathon #2.
That's 24 hours of continuous drawing!
Christmas Eve 2013
Raising funds for Syria Relief's Winter appeal:
Through recent work and travel, I have met young Syrians, artists and designers just like myself who's lives have been directly and brutally affected by the raging conflicts in Syria. I was moved to do something, and was recommended Syria Relief, a charity started by a group of doctors who work with volunteers inside Syria to deliver help and aid to people who need it most.
As we brace ourselves in the UK for the coldest weather predicted in the last hundred years, take a moment and consider those who are being forced to endure such conditions while displaced from their homes. Often with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
This winter, snow will blanket the mountains of Lebanon, where more than 100,000 Syrian people are forced to take shelter in tents flooded by rainwater, with no electricity, scant food and minimal access to basic medical care. This is the harsh reality of winter for hundreds of thousands of people. Syria Relief is working tirelessly to provide the victims of the conflict with warm clothes, blankets, food, and hygiene packages.Help us to help them by donating as much as you are able to.
And here is how you can get involved! Anyone who donates on this page may us the comment box to suggest a subject or an image for me to draw during my 24 hour marathon!
You will be able to tune in to watch the drawings being completed on a live webcam (watch this space for the URL link) When the sun has risen on Christmas morning and I have finished, I will send your requested drawing to you to say thank you.
Merry Christmas, and thank you so much for your help,
Alice
