There are three of us are taking part in an event in Belize called 'La Ruta Maya River Challenge' on the 9th March 2007.  The 'La Ruta Maya' is 170 miles, and a 4 day canoe race across Belize.  We are all members of 25 Flight Army Air Corps currently serving in Belize.  For more info on the event please visit the website http://www.larutamayabelize.com/ 

We have chosen to support Cancer Research as a charity to raise money for as i know you'll all agree that this terrible disease will touch us all at least once in our lives in one way or another.  According to cancer research 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer at some point in our lives.  Did you know there is 24 different types of cancer, and in 2004, 153,397 people died from cancer in the UK.  With the most common type being lung cancer claiming 33,044 lives.  With statistics like these it will effect each and everyone of us, if not directly then someone we know.  The overall mortality rate for cancer is gradually dropping, so please donate even if its only £1, and lets help beat this terrible disease.
