Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·

Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end. But too many people miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

Hi. As a lot of you may know I'm running the London Marathon this year for Help the Hospices. I'm also running the Prague Marathon 3 weeks later and I really want to raise as much as I can for this excellent cause.

There are too many reasons why Help the Hospices need your donations so I have kept it simple.

This is what one Hospice user said:

“I’m lucky to have St Luke’s. And to go every Wednesday and mix there and laugh with people who you know have got cancer and they know they couldn’t be here tomorrow, here today gone tomorrow, or anything, it’s quite a thing to do. And you know you begin to realise that there are people in this world that are a lot worse off than you. I feel that, when I look at some that I’ve seen in there, I’m privileged”

The average stay in a hospice is just 13 days and so please help to make those days as comfortable as possible. I need your donations to motivate me through these two races but Help the Hospices need your help to continue the vital work that they  tirelessly undertake.

Many thanks.

James
