Story
My name is Leigh Beazley. My daughter Georgia is 12 years old and is a long- term patient on Rose Ward. As the years have gone by her admissions have got longer and more frequent. The Brompton Hospital has become our second home.
A team of women competed in The Adidas Women's 5k Challenge in Hyde Park London on Sunday September 7th 2008. An army of women that ran united, on a mission. Bloody hell, you can just Imagine it......an army full of PMT and menopausal women......We should have been shot at dawn!
Our aim is to raise funds to brighten up Rose Ward and purchase visual/audio entertainment equipment so that all children who are in segregation, isolation or just too poorly to get out of bed can keep up with schoolwork, communicate with family & friends and be kept entertained during long stays on a ward away from family life.
Rose Ward is the only paediatric ward with The Royal Brompton Hospital that gives specialised care to children with respiratory and cardiac conditions and diseases. NHS resources only stretch so far. The little extras come from people like you. The families & friends of the patients. Wouldn't you like to give something back?
Our untimate dream would be to raise enough money to change a 1st class clinical ward into a wonderful children's enviroment with an array of colour that continously brings smiles to the faces of the children in it's care.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital Charitable Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor the team now!
