Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

WE DID IT!!! 23 HOURS 51 MINUTES!!!

We are four mums from Maple School and are the only girls team to attempt the 3 Peaks Challenge. The challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.  This is likely to involve walking 22 miles, ascending a total of 3000 metres, with approximately 13 hours walking time!  At the same time, our children (some quite small!) will also be attempting to climb Snowdon.

We are raising money for both Maple school and a local charity 'Home Start'. Both charities will receive a 50:50 split of the donated money.  The money raised for school aims to purchase at least 16 new standalone computers for the infant classes, as well as 16 new laptop computers together with trolleys for the whole school, and an electric screen and a short throw projector, linked to the sound system, which will benefit all children and in particularly the hearing impaired children.  Home Start St Albans City & District is a voluntary organisation that provides trained volunteers who offer regular practical and emotional support to families with at least one child under 5 in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown, and emphasising the pleasures of family life.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep, donate what you can and please wish us luck - we have been training hard and would love to do this in 24 hours, and even if we don't, we'd just love to beat the boys' teams!

Thank you!

Debbie, Emma, Lucy and Patti
