Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Initially, it was the threat of turning 30 that inspired a little personal fitness challenge for me and then, in February 2009 when Tamsyn was diagnosed with Breast Cancer I was given some added motivation and a much more important cause.

Friends are family have already helped to raise over £2000 for Breast Cancer Care (http://www.justgiving.com/friendsofhonour) which we have been overwhelemed by.  Tamsyn and I would personally like to give something back to the Jane Ashley Unit at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford - the specialist Breast Cancer ward that looked after Tamsyn following her surgery.  All donations, no matter how big or small, are greatfully received.

So the challenge: run 30 kilometres in 30 days the year I turn 30 - three 10k races in a month - or 30 k's in 30 days!

*UPDATE* 06 September 2009

I completed my first of three 10k races at Worminghall in one piece and achieved a new personal best time of 53m 21s to boot!  3 weeks of training before the next race, although another personal best is unlikely as the next course in Cornbury Park is a bit hilly!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
