Story

                                                                  National 3 Peaks Challenge

Sunday 30th May 2010

On Sunday 30th May, 6 of embarked on the National 3 Peaks Challenge.  This challenge involved climbing (walking) the 3 highest mountains in , and all within a 24 hour period: Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m).

We completed this challenge with minutes to spare due to a desperate and mad dash down Snowdon in just under an hour.  Official time of completion was 23 hours, 57 minutes!  Due to injury Jagdeep had to pull out after the first mountain after he fell and hurt his knee.  The rest of us soildered on and by the time we were walking up Snowdon we were suffering from exhaustion, sleep deprivation and injuries amongst other things.  Completing this challenge was a major achievement considering we had under an hour to get down from Snowdon.  Well done, lads!

We will be funding the cost of this challenge ourselves and aim to raise money for the charity Khalsa Aid which funds many projects in Punjab and has recently been very active with helping those devastated by the disaster in Haiti.  Any support you can offer this charity to help those less fortunate than us around the world would be greatly received and appreciated.

Many, many thanks to Jujhar who drove us from mountain to mountain.  Without him none of this would have been possible and he kindly took the time out to to help us in this cause.  He was just as, if not more, important than any of us as we aimed to get to each location quickly and safely.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.  Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.  So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please dig deep and let's make a difference to those that need our help the most.

Many thanks in advance.
