Story
Hello!
On 18th September 2010 a group of us will be attempting the three peaks challenge to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for The Knight Foundation, a charity that provides support and help for Cystic Fibrosis sufferers at The Knight Centre at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.
Why are we doing this?
In 2002 our dear friend Lou Polhill lost her life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis and passed away at The Knight Centre at the age of just 21. At the time, her older brother Dan Polhill and a group of his friends decided to complete the Three Peaks in her memory and to raise money for the hospital in which she died. What with one thing and another this idea remained on the "to-do list" and the years rolled by.
Tragically on 25 September 2009, Dan and his fiancee Anna were involved in a car crash that Dan did not survive. He died, never having achieved this most personal of goals.
A group of Dan's friends have decided to under take the challenge on his behalf, both in memory of Lou and Dan, but also to tick one small thing off his to-do list that he will now never get the chance to do himself.
