Please take a moment to read this special sponsorship request...
In April 2008 two year old Phoebe Macaskill from Lochend by Inverness was taken into Yorkhill Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare and very aggressive childhood cancer.
Since then Phoebe has started on a treatment programme which involves chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and differentiation treatment. Following a 6 hr operation on 30 July Phoebe is about to undergo intensive chemotherapy treatment.
Despite the level of present treatment future privately funded treatment cannot be ruled out. The likelihood of relapse in Neuroblastoma is high and there are only limited resources for dealing with this type of children’s cancer in the UK.
Private treatment will be very expensive. It's for that reason we must raise funds now.
This is where you can help us to help Phoebe...
On Saturday 30 August four of us, cousins and friends of Phoebe, will compete in the 3G Challenge, a 48 mile mountain bike race in the Cannich area. By sponsoring us in this event you'll be giving Phoebe the best possible chance of making a full recovery.
Our target of £2,000 is but a drop in the bucket but we think it's a worthy cause and anything you can give will be better than nothing. You can even Gift Aid your donation online and the money will go direct to helping Phoebe.
So please - go ahead and sponsor us by clicking the "Sponsor Us Now" link below! You would also be helping Phoebe by cutting and emailing the following link to family, friends and colleagues.

Neuroblastoma - the facts:
1 Neuroblastoma is a complex tumour, which arises either in the sympathetic nervous system or closely associated adrenal glands and is usually, although not always located in the abdomen.
2 About 100 children in the UK are diagnosed each year and most of these are less than 4 years of age.
3 In Phoebe’s case the tumour is above her left adrenal gland and has metastasised into her lymph nodes, bone marrow, pelvis and spine (visit Phoebe's website here - remember to sponsor us first though please).
4 Children with advance-stage disease (Stage 4) have a significantly decreased chance for cure despite intensive therapy.
5 As with most cancers the cause of Neuroblastoma is unknown.
