We help adults with learning disabilities to get more out of life.

Story

9th July 09: You'll be pleased to know that we've completed the journey and are still the best of friends. Collectively, we've got an impressive array of blisters, bruises and chafing scars from the experience, but we all absolutely loved every minute of it. We just want to say a collective 'thank you' to everyone who has sponsored us, it is a fantastic achievement to have raised so much. We also want to say a specific thank you to the following people.........thank you to.......Stuart and Kay for letting Dave spend his evenings on the rowing machine in their garage......Dave's mum for the wonderful fruit cake that was a great accommpaniment to our mid morning and late night brews......to the owner of the Doberman who didn't set his dog on us when we camped in the bottom of his garden.......to Mark and everyone at Cognition who looked after us so well at Henley.......to Tim and Zoe for allowing us to use their shower and raid their fridge......to the bloke and middle aged ladies who fed us beer on our last night......to Tom for not shouting at us too much when we lost his precious antique boat hook........to our wives and family who granted us the passes.......and to everyone we met along the way who were so friendly and supportive.

23rd June 09: With a week to go, we're only £300 off our target which is great. I hope the weather holds up we finish in enough time to find a nice pub in which to watch Andy Murray beat Roger Federer at Wimbledon. One slight concern at the moment......Luke is in Afghanistan filming for ITN. He hopes to be back by the 1st. I'm not sure he's doing much erg training out there, but his bullet dodging skills have improved no end. Thanks for donating!

3rd June 09: Wow.....we hadn't expected to hit our target that early, better change it to £2000.....we clearly underestimate the generosity of you all. Preparation is going well with only a few things lacking......granite arses, technique and leather palms to name but three.

28th May 09: Robbie McIntosh, David Pinckney and Luke Collinson are going to be following in the ripples of Jerome K Jerome and rowing the 94 miles from Oxford to Kingston to raise money for the Home Farm Trust Charity. They will be rowing in a classic Victorian skiff which will ensure maximum discomfort and minimum speed.

HFT supports adults with learning disabilities in England to make the choices they need to lead happy and fulfilling lives. This is a charity close to David, as his sister Vicky has been living in a HFT home for many years.

They will be rowing from the 1st July and are hoping to complete it in around 4 days. Having initially hoped they would be able to be able to stop off in every Thames-side pub, research has suggested that they will be required to row for around 8 hours a day to make the distance - so there will be little time for slacking.

We're short of a dog at the moment so if anyone wants to offload their mutt for a few days (for a charitable fee of course), we could do with the company......they need to be able to do their share of the rowing of course.

Many thanks for your generous support.

David, Robbie and Luke
