Story
Our daughter, Maisie, was a beautiful and happy six month old baby when she contracted a virus, which developed into Encephalitis.
Maisie was taken by the portable intensive care ambulance to the Children of St Mary's Paddington Intensive Care Unit, where the staff worked tirelessly to save her. Unfortunately for Maisie, she did not win her fight against her devastating illness.
We as a family, benefited from the compassion and sensitivity that the staff at St Mary's showed us during this time when we lost our precious little Maisie. We want to support their excellent work and to help other children and families at a time of their greatest need.
The money we raise will help accommodate families, local to St Mary's while their children are in hospital. It will also contribute towards purchasing life saving equipment and develop their work with further research into the causes, effects and treatments of life threatening childhood diseases and infections.
