Guess Who - 2016 · 19 March 2016

VA has been helping veterans in crisis since 1932, regardless of age, ethnicity, faith, rank or length or service. Uniquely, it takes immediate action when homelessness, debt, addiction or social isolation threatens to destroy a life. Important to read: http://www.veterans-aid.net/support-us/

Story

What is Guess Who?

This is a competition where participants have to identify their 600SQN colleagues in the photographs on display. The photographs will have been taken many years ago and the intervening years may have had an influence on your SQN colleagues appearance, preventing you to Guess Who they are!

I am sure many will be amazed, bewildered or even alarmed at your hip hop (not Hip Op!) good fashion sense, good hair, good teeth and many other good bits which may have dropped off/disappeared since the image of the 'younger you' was taken.

Your challenge is to identify your 600SQN colleague in the photograph on display (in a portrait or group photograph) and put your Guess on your Answer Sheet against the number on the photograph.

That is all you have to do. Simples!

 ............ or is it?

As our aim is to raise money for Veterans Aid, the Entry Fee is at least a £2.00 donation 'On Line', 'On Mobile' or 'On the Night' to take part by:

  • Providing a photograph of the 'Younger You' with at least a £2.00 entry fee. Your Answer Sheet will be given to you when you submit your photo.
  • If you don't want to provide a photograph but would like to take part the entry fee is £5.00 for your Answer Sheet 'On the Night'.

Please see below on how to donate.

When will it take place?

I would like to start receiving your photographs from Saturday 30 January which will be displayed in the Crew Room.

The competition will finish on a training weekend in May or June 2016 with a Glitzy Prize Giving evening in the traditional Reynolds style. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the most correct answers.

Thank you for supporting this fun but important fundraiser for Veterans Aid a charity for Veterans in crisis. It operates from an HQ and Drop-in Centre at 40 Buckingham Palace Road, London, just a few minutes from Victoria Station. It also operates a hostel called New Belvedere House in East London.

Veterans Aid is the Nations one-stop shop for Veterans in crisis. Last year (2015) it provided over 22,000 nights of accommodation, dealt with more than 4,500 calls for help and advice and welcomed more than 600 visitors to their Main Office.

For those in crisis, Veterans Aid is there to help and has been there to provide support for over 80 years.

Whatever 600SQN is able to raise from what will be a fun activity will be gratefully accepted by the volunteers working tirelessly at Veterans Aid.
