We offer expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness

Story

There’s so much in life that we think is important when it really isn’t. A bigger TV, a newer car, a holiday. It takes something like the news that a close friend and colleague has been diagnosed with an inoperable cancer to put things into perspective, and focus us on what’s really important. Our friend Neil Rodgers is in this position. And it’s stopped us in our tracks. Knocked us for six. Made us think a little.

Actually, it has made us think a lot. But we’re taking the lead from Neil and refusing to wallow in this horrible news. We’re going to do something positive. So we’re hitting the road to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care – Neil’s choice of charity. On June 21st 2010 five Harley-Davidsons will fire up and transport our intrepid band from McCann to Cannes. Via as many McCann offices as we can on the way. We’ll stop and grab photos to prove we’ve visited Belgium, Germany, Luxemborg, Switzerland, Italy and France before returning back to the UK, for 5pm friday 25th. We’ll be riding hard all day, every day to cover 7 countries in 5 days for 1 good cause.

At some point all of us have, or one day will, be affected by the big C. So please, forget that important job for one moment, and support this great cause, dig deep and give generously in support of Dean, Jamie, and Stu as we ride in support of Neil and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Thank you. We really appreciate it.

And where will the funds go?

The Marie Curie Hospice on Solihull’s Warwick Road provides expert care and support to terminally ill patients and their families, completely free of charge. Around 1,000 local people with cancer and other illnesses are supported every year.

The hospice provides excellent care but the size and 100 year old building will prevent the charity from being able to give patients the best possible support in the future. Marie Curie’s dream is to build a new hospice that will have the most modern of facilities of its kind. A new hospice will mean the charity can care for twice as many people as well as providing improved day services.
