Story
In August 2015 I will be undertaking a massive endurance challenge which will test me to my absolute physical and mental limits. This is the UK's biggest and toughest solo endurance challenge of 2015!!
Many have run, cycled, skipped and golfed their way from Lands End to John O'Groats but I intend to get from one to the other by doing 7 Ironman distance triathlons over 7 days. That's a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile bike ride followed by a 26.2 mile run (a Marathon) every day for 7 days along this tough route. This is #7days7irons
I am no stranger to Triathlons, I am familiar with the training and aware of the fitness levels needed to take on a single Ironman distance Tri. However, I have yet to take part in a an Ironman which makes this challenge far more, well, challenging! This will be a battle, a pure struggle from start to finish and I am confident that if I can win the mental struggle I will win the physical one too..
As if the challenge isn't hard enough I have set myself a big fundraising target of £50,000 for Children North East. The charity is the oldest independent children's charity in the region but, in my opinion, is largely unrepresented. As well as raising funds I hope, along the way, I will also help to raise the profile of this much needed charity.
Through JustGiving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charity. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
Please note that I have recently made the decision to switch to JustGiving from other online sponsorship pages. Therefore all Donors and messages on those pages have been ommitted. However, a copy is available to view on the website www.7days7irons.com
