Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  We are getting ready to embark on a charity bike ride to Brighton being organised by the London Corporate department of Addleshaw Goddard.  AG is committed to its Corporate Social Responsibility programme and throughout the year we engage in a number of projects to help communities throughout our three offices.

This charity ride is not the formal London to Brighton event – we will be braving the open roads on our own!  Our cycling team (see below) of around 30 partners, associates and other staff will leave from Clapham in the morning of 14 May - and the gruelling 60 mile (plus) journey will see the riders follow a route of our own design (including the horrendous prospect of a 267 metre climb at around mile 55). Ably aided by our car-bound support team we will pedal our way through a series of checkpoints (hopefully without losing too many riders).

We will be supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital children’s charity, which, as you may know, is a national centre of excellence for specialist children’s healthcare.  GOSH is one of the largest centres for research into childhood illness, and has the widest range of children’s specialists in the UK.  It also makes a very big difference in children’s heart and brain surgery or for kids with cancer.  To give our own event particular focus, we want to ensure we raise at least £5000, which will help fund an electroencephalogram (EEG) unit.

As an added incentive for donations, some of the cyclists have agreed to complete the ride in fancy dress, either as Super Heroes or Super Villains.

We at Addleshaw Goddard think that GOSH is a fantastic charity and as one of our London office's two sponsored organisations over this past year we are particularly proud to support the organisation with this event. We hope that you also consider that this is an extremely worthwhile cause and we would be extremely grateful if you would consider sponsoring our team.  All donations would be very much appreciated. You can make a donation here or by cheque payable to Addleshaw Goddard LLP sent by post to Gary Fearn, Addleshaw Goddard LLP, Milton Gate, 60 Chiswell Street, London EC1Y 4AG.

Our cyclists are......Gary Fearn, Michael Carter, Eilean Couper, Clare Thomas, Fraser Ritson, Peter Thompson, Michael Green, Richard Line, William James, Helen Larnder, Lance Sapsford, Alice Greaves, Laura Robertson-Dunn, Anna Mortlock, Ed Howells, Jonathan McGuinness, Damon Rosamond-Lanzetta, Marc Cropper, Adrian Collins, Daniel Treloar, Richard Overy, Alison Crichton, Lindsay Broadfoot, Sarah Worker, Greg Simms, Carole Hutchison, Dan Harris, Chris Cooper, Darren Harvey, Terry Hutchison, Sandrine Gas, Paul Devitt, Martin Gaskin and Kristy Ingle.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to GOSH and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for GOSH.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks
