Story
Thank you so much for your donation - The Princess Alice Hospice is a phenomenal place. For many people it becomes a home away from home during the last weeks and days of a hard fought battle with cancer and for all of the families involved, at whatever stage of the illness their loved ones may be at, it provides much needed respite from the constant demands of caring with someone with cancer.

I am running in memory of my father, uncle and my grandfather and I hope to do their memory proud by raising as much money as I possibly can. The cost of running the hospice for ONE day is £16,000 and it is completely free for patients.
So...I managed to secure my place for The Princess Alice Hospice team and started my training...all was well until we hit the 18 mile mark one freezing, hailing day...a twinge later followed by some serious pain, followed by numerous scans and consultations I came away with two stress fractures in my right leg...DISASTER. 4 weeks on crutches and some serious frustration followed.
I am now injury free and have decided to run next week - I think I can give it a good bash and still raise much needed funds for The Princess Alice, who are unable to replace runners who can't compete due to injury!
SO........Please help me along the way and dig as deep as you can! I have a feeling I may hit the famous 'wall' that everyone talks about a bit quicker than most...so I really do need all of the encouragment and incentives that I can get!
Thank you! Ali
