I am taking part in the AVIV Challenge in April 2010 which is being organised by Wizo.uk.

Wizo.uk is an international women's organisation  that aims to ensure that Israeli children, regardless of where they live or their socio-economic background, receive an equal start in life.

During our trip our aim is to make a difference to the lives of some of the women and children that WIZO supports in Israel. I will be working on WIZO projects such as painting and renovating a refuge for abused women, teaching basic English to children and building facilities such as a dance studio at a residential school for children who are survivors of abuse and neglect.

As you know, WIZO is very important to me and my family. I had the privilege of visiting Israel with WIZO AVIV last November and have seen the difference WIZO has on so many lives first hand. This project will be hard work, but  I know the outcome will be worthwhile.

The money I hope to raise for this trip will go towards ensuring women, children and young people are provided with safe, loving environments in order to grow and reach their full potential.
