Story
Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided it’s high time I did something worthy for a change, and also do some proper exercise for the first time in months......so on Sunday 4th July, I am running the Leeds 10K in order to raise funds for Leeds Children's Charity.
Believe it or not, I have actually been doing some training over the last few weeks to get me somewhere near being able to drag myself around the course and raise money for a worthy cause this weekend!
I became involved with Leeds Children’s Charity a few months ago when I teamed up with a few other local businesses to help raise awareness of the cause.
Although it is over 100 years old, very few people within Leeds have actually heard of the charity and the fantastic work it carries out. The charity has been raising funds so that children who suffer from poverty, neglect, abuse or serious illness get the chance to visit the seaside, make friends and have fun.
They do this by sending 300 children each year to its holiday centre in Silverdale, an “area of outstanding natural beauty” on the border of Lancashire and Cumbria.
My target is to raise enough funds to enable a number of local children to experience what a holiday is like! Whatever you can spare is gratefully received, from £1 to £100, as every pound donated will take me closer to my £1,000 target!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Alternatively if you would like to help raise awareness by joining me in running yourself on behalf of the charity please visit http://www.leedschildrenscharity.org.uk/events-jt10k.html to sign up!
Thanks!
Adam
