Story
I have made the decision to raise money for the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) as they have been a great help to my wife Clare's family, especially after the death of her brother David when he was 12 weeks old. Clare's family has been supporters of this charity for nearly thirty years and has raised money in many different ways. The money I raise will fund research into sudden infant death and will support families whose babies have died suddenly and unexpectedly. I feel that taking part in this event is an ideal way to repay FSID for all their hard work.
The climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro takes 5 days, trekking between 6 to 10 hours a day through rainforest to a snow capped peak. It is an ‘extreme’ challenge because of the altitude, the length of time we will be trekking each day and exposure to the elements.
