I'm taking part in the Great North Swim in and I would be really grateful if you would sponsor me a few pennies to do it.

I'm raising money for Crohn's Disease charity. The money will be used to fund research into finding treatments that will help sufferers live more comfortably.

Chrohn's disease is a debilitating condition that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract. It has been the blight of both my brother and sisters life for the past 10 years and as the lucky sibling who's not a sufferer, I thought I'd do something to help out.

I'll keep you posted on my training and might even post a picture of me in my wetsuit, swim hat and goggles for you to have a giggle at.
