So ..as many of you know , I work within the red light area of Coventry ( amongst other places ) , I absolutely love my job and the truly wonderful women I get to work along side every day .... I started my journey at Kairos as a volunteer and Today , I am a Service Manger / prison In Reach worker , We at kairos support some of the most vulnerable and marginalised women in this City ..( women warriors ..each and everyone one !! .. a testimony to female inner strength and all out hardcore personal resilience )...

As we (Kairos WWT) Celebrate 21 years Working in Coventry (A service ethos of “walking side by side” metaphorically speakin , with “our women “ ...I am honoured and privileged to launch the start of our 21st Birthday Celebrations !!! ... which is both a fund Raising campaign and an awareness raising event ... I am going to be sleeping out side for the next 21 days !... why ? ...because the majority of the women In service are also rough sleeping in and around the City ( often in the hillfields area ) sadly as a society we either turn a blind eye ... .. or we stop stare judge and stigmatise !!! ( that old chestnut ...deserving and undeserving) .. however the majority of all the amazing women We work with , have previously experienced multiple disadvantages and will likely as a result , experience a complex mix support needs , ( translated ..these women will have early childhood experience of emotional sexual and physical abuse Or neglect , and often known to the care system, ... , ( unfortunately The lottery of birth!!! ) ... the experience listed above will often result in a negative impact upon mental health .. which in turn will either result in Illicit / prescription substance use .. use to medicate the mind ..to forget .. to ease the pain , to get by , and to survive the pain ... the pain of remembering.... 

So in the true spirit of Kairos and all we at kairos stand for .. , I am sleeping out , and will do so for the next 21 nights ( Just in my garden ) in the hope , of raising some awareness and also some funds .... so please please sponsor me ,every single penny counts .. I want to raise £210 for our Great charity .. Covid 19 has exasperated the needs of our women , so it even more important than ever to show these women we care #beKind ... #EveryWomenMatters ... she deserves ..,#AHomeofHerOwn ... I shall be posting my updates on FB .. updates througtout the nights and 21 days ( god these women are so brave ) .. n I’m a big scaredy-cat .. n my shed is full of creepy crawlies !! .., how the heck do you brave women warriors bed down in an alleyway ? Bin shed ,car park ??
