Story
I know, I know. I wasn't going to do this again !!!
But I've been given so much encouragement to do this once more. So many of you who have stopped me and asked me if I'd be doing another marathon. That if I did it you'd support me. So this is it ! One more to help make life a better place for children who live in unimaginable conditions around the world. But it is the last one ! Honest ! My toes won't take much more !!!
I know the recession is only just recovering .. but if you can spare any money, however small, it will be used to help children and their families in real need. Children for whom a credit crunch will make no marked difference to the hardship of their days.
So, once more 26.2 miles (42.2 km) in the Virgin London Marathon and once more in memory of my daughters Olivia and Imogen.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for those who've supported me in the past you've contributed to over £30,000 raised for children's charities. THANK YOU !!
About Hope for Children
We are a low-cost and no frills charity and are proud to say that 100% of public donations go directly to cause for which it was donated. We manage to keep our costs low thanks to our volunteers. We work with grass roots projects around the world and we aim to catch those who cannot get aid, support or assistance elsewhere. We really do offer hope to those who need it the most.
Our Mission
To improve the quality of life and advance the rights of children. To bring about change for good on behalf of children and families, and encourage them to participate in processes which enhance their equality, self-reliance and long term sustainable development. Wherever possible to provide practical support which allows children to grow up within their own families and communities.
Our Aims
HOPE's aims and objectives are to assist children, who suffer through being handicapped, orphaned, poor and exploited, in particular those living in developing countries. This is achieved through providing, promoting and advancing children’s rights to basic necessities, including education and health care, aimed at sustaining their long term development.
Hope for Children (HOPE) was officially registered as a Charity in 1994 to coincide with the International Year of the Family. It is a non-sectarian, non-political and non-profit making organisation. HOPE is accountable through its constitution to its members and an Executive Committee of Trustees.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hope for Children gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
