Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The SCHOOLS ICT SUPPORT PROJECT project focus is secure livelihood and poverty alleviation through education and training.

The Project aim is to provide ICT training as part of the school curiculum in five community secondary schools in the Tanga municipality to improve the overall quality of education for about five thousand five hundred (5500) children in secondary schools. The project will raise skills level among young people and provide the driver for business  growth, improved economic well being of Tanga and therefore increase employment opportunities for school leavers in the region.

The specific tasks are:

    1. Equip and set up ICT facilities in 5 Secondary Schools in Tanga Region
    2. Train at least 60 teachers from the 5 schools in ICT at beginners level with some as technicians able to maintain the equipment
    3. Develop and provide training materials and support ICT curriculum
    4. Support 10 teachers from an earlier Pilot project to achieve accredited ICT certification as “Teacher Trainers”
    5. Train 10 School Heads in ICT, organisational development, fundraising and capacity building

A.C.T. is a UK-registered charity formed in March 1999 with the vision to relieve poverty and advance development in Africa by educating disadvantaged fatherless children and orphans and supporting needy widows through training to generate income to sustain their families.
