Story
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The Alzheimer's Society is a charity I have undertaken to support this year. It is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those that care for them. From personal experience as well as being a very difficult illness to diagnose, dementia in a loved one is an illness that can have radical effects on entire families across generations. I can see how an organisation like this has potential to make a big difference to families affected.
Alzheimer's Society is Credit Suisse London's Charity of the Year and through this relationship I will be trying to raise as much as possible for this organisation by doing the Alpine Cycle Challenge. I will be cycling from Zurich, Switzerland to Frankfurt, Germany - via the Black Forest and Strasbourg, France. The destination is significant for the cause as it was the research HQ of Dr. Alois Alzheimer (1864-1915) who is credited with identifying the first published case of presenile dementia. The challenge is a total of 270 miles (around 430 km) covered over 4 days.
With no known cure, the Alzheimer's Society needs all the backing they can get to continue making a difference to patients, patient carers and families - so please dig deep and donate anything you can.
Many thanks,
Alan
