I will be flying across the pitch at Hillsborough this April to support The Children’s Hospital Charity’s zip slide challenge.

The challenge will take place between 9.00am and 4.30pm on Sunday 25 April 2010 and will see participants like myself zip slide from the back of the Kop and across the pitch to the Leppings Lane end. 

I visited The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield, last month, to mark a year since the club launched its special partnership with the hospital and its charity and was really touched by the work that goes on there.

I have been on a zip slide before and when I heard about the charity’s event at Hillsborough Stadium I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to support this fantastic hospital.

 

I hope Wednesday fans will get involved and have a go too. It’s a real thrill, a really worthy cause and for many fans it would be a unique opportunity to fly over and land on the pitch.
