Story
As you may know, our friends Dan, Kate and their young son Sam are very bravely dealing with a health diagnosis that we all think happens only to other people.
Typically Dan remains selfless as ever and on his final email at work made us all aware of Daisy's Dream a small, local charity who help support children through bereavement.
Taking up his challenge, on 21st June 2019 - "The Longest Day"; Rich Usher and I will attempt to complete 4 rounds of golf at Caversham Heath Golf Club where Dan is a member.
I know what you're thinking - playing golf doesn't sound much like a chore, but consider this, If the 72 holes were laid out in a straight line we would be walking 16 miles, hitting a ball (hopefully) under 400 times. If you have ever seen us play golf, then you know straight lines are not involved very often. Plus neither of us would be allowed to enter any self-respecting marathon - so golf it is.
We will spend virtually every second of day-light - around 16-17 hours walking double the course distance and some, so please we would appreciate every penny that you can spare to help this charity continue their work across Berkshire.
Our employer will match your contribution which means (if my maths is correct) for example that a £20 donation with GiftAid Tax Relief, when matched will provide £48 for the Charity!
