Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Marathon Page. On April 25th I plan on running the London Marathon - 26.2 miles of blood, sweat and tears - and I really need your help to get me across the finish line! As those who know me probably know, I'm not what you would call a natural athlete! But I decided to run because of a cause that we don't really hear much about in UK....

Swaziland may not be making the headlines, but the situation in this small African country is very serious indeed. One in four adults is HIV positive. Severe droughts and rising food prices have pushed many families into poverty with around 200,000 people currently needing food aid just to survive. Many have been forced to leave their homes and communities in order to find work.

Worst of all is the effect this is having on the nation's children. Today, thousands of children are having to look after parents dying of AIDS. That's tragic. Even worse are the thousands of AIDS orphans who are left to care for their younger siblings.

These children are the innocent victims of this crisis. They have no opportunity to go to school, no time to play with others - they are children with little hope for their future.

Samaritans Purse and their partners are working with churches and communities to care and support these children impacted by HIV and ensure their essential needs are met as well as providing love and attention.
