Story
Dear friends, family and colleagues!
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are taking part in the ING 2010 New York Marathon with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Leuka, an incredible charity based at the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College close to our hearts.
Leuka supports patients and their families though what is undoubtedly the most difficult time of their lives as well as funding life-saving research into the causes and treatment of leukaemia and other blood disorders.
Last year, I (Alex!) hung up my stethoscope to embark on a PhD looking at the role of gene silencing in blood cancer. My first year of research was generously funded by Leuka. Leuka is also supporting the work of researchers who aim to improve our understanding of the causes of childhood leukaemia. During her Paediatric posts Sharmila has been involved in the treatment of children with leukaemia and is proud to support the work of Leuka.
Please dig deep and donate now.
Love and thanks
