In February 2011, I will be embarking on a 4 month voluntary placement in the Centre for Adolescent Renewal and Education (CARE) in Castries, St Lucia.

As part of my fundraising, I will completing a sponsored walk from Kensal Rise to Highgate Cemetery. I will be carrying out a few more charity events before my departure date, but hope that this walk will give me a headstart in raising the money to get to St Lucia.

During my placement, I will be assisting with teaching adolescents who, for a range of reasons, may have missed out on formal education and qualifications. I may also be working at The Lucia Boys Training Centre, which is the only juvenile detention facility on the island.
