Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page set up in Alison's memory.

Alison Stansfield, mother, sister, grandmother (Bibi), dear friend and colleague passed away peacefully at the end of June, at home, with her family beside her.

From the family:

Alison was one of three children born in Africa to Derek and Mary Stansfield. On their return to the UK they quickly moved to Kirkby-in-Furness where Alison was an active member of the community until she went to university where she met and married David.

David and Alison made their home in Derbyshire where they had three sons. Latterly she moved to Bromley and then Stourport-on-Severn where she died.

Alison had a full and productive working life which impacted many people.

It came as such a shock to us all when she was diagnosed with Sporadic CJD after having had a long hard fight with cancer which through her strength and determination to live, she kept at bay.

Alison will be remembered fondly by all people whose lives she touched.

We have set up this JustGiving page for the CJD Support Network to remember Alison. A cause reliant completely on donations.

Your donation from this will go directly to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) Support Network:

The CJD Support Network is the only UK charity providing emotional and practical support for all strains of CJD and for those who are at greater risk of CJD which is a rare and fatal condition that affects the brain. The CJD Support Network was established in 1995 by relatives of people who have died with CJD and is now recognised as the leading charity for all forms of CJD, they receive no statutory funding and are totally reliant on public donations and fundraising. Thank you for your donation.

Memorial book:

A memorial book for Alison’s family is being produced to capture memories and anecdotes both personal and professional. If you would like to contribute, please send your words and any photographs to Kerrie Illsley: kerrie.illsley@thepwi.org
