In memory of Mel Jaggard
We fund research, education & equipment to help fight all Head & Neck disease

Story

I am cycling over 180 miles (maybe more if we get lost) to Wales with a team of Unilever colleagues on May 19th & 20th. We will cycle over 2 days from Leatherhead to Gilwern, South Wales, in memory of Mel, a beloved colleague who sadly passed away in 2013, & we are raising money for Get Ahead in memory of her. Mel suffered from Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC), a very rare form of cancer. I am lucky to have this opportunity to raise money for a less-well-known charity but one that did so much for Mel and her family.

Throughout her epic battle, Mel and her family raised awareness and a significant amount of money for research into ACC.  Inspired by Mel, I joined a group of Unilever colleagues to pick up where she had left off and so it was in 2014 that 48 of us cycled from Unilever's head office in Leatherhead to Mel's home town of Gilwern.  Miles 4 Mel is back for a 4th year, to keep the memory of Mel very much alive and "cycling" and to raise more vitally important money for the Get A Head charitable trust, and I am excited to join in!

This will be the 3rd time I have ridden and supported the charity - it doesn't get easier, so please give generously, help a great cause and keep me motivated for the ride ahead!

Thank you for reading my page, donations and kind words, Ali :)
