Our original idea, as a bit of fun, was for Tori and I to run the London marathon. Not really taking it that seriously, we planned to do as much training together as possible. This proved difficult  given the distance between us (Glasgow/Cardiff) but we did manage a few runs togther to gauge each others fitness. I have managed a few long runs as has Tori, but unfortunately an injury brought on by running has halted Tori's participation and she can no longer take part in 2011. We are both very disappointed she can't take part this year.

That leaves me to carry the mantle for Anthony Nolan and ACCA in 2010 and I fully intend to fulfill our original committment for both of us and trust that I can be as much support in 2011 to Tori as she has been and will be for me this year.

 Ally will be running the Virgin London Marathon on April 17th 2011 in aid of Anthony Nolan http://www.anthonynolan.org/  Anthony Nolan is a charity that finds matches for leukaemia patients who need a lifesaving transplant. For someone with leukaemia, a bone marrow transplant can be their only hope of life. We use our register, cord blood bank and research to find remarkable people who can give them that hope by donating their stem cells. By doing this, we save lives.

I have never run a marathon (and quite probably won't again) before and to date have run every week since early October - even in the snow and amassed a mileage total in the region of 850 miles. The longest I have managed is a whopping 23.6 miles and am confident that the last few miles won't be too painful.
