Story
Sarah, Sef and I are going out of our comfort zone in order to raise funds to help disadvantaged and sick children. We are joining the Let’s Trek for Children Jordan Challenge to support the work of four of the UK’s children’s charities: Barnardo’s, Kith & Kids, Dreams Come True and MedEquip4Kids.
The Let’s Trek for Children Jordan Desert Challenge takes place from 20-27th March 2010. The trek starts at The Dead Sea – the lowest point on earth and finishes five days later in the ancient red rock city of Petra. Having walked for 6-8 hours each day with our Bedouin guides we will be camping under the stars in Bedouin tents each night. All of the many steps taken will benefit hundreds of sick and disadvantaged children.
We each need to raise a minimum of £2,500 in sponsorship funds. We are paying our own travel expenses so all the money donated to me will go directly to the charities mentioned. It is hoped that the event will raise more than £50,000 in total – money that will make a huge difference to these charities.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I would be massively grateful for any donations you can give and will bore you with all the details of the trip on our return!! Thank you in advance Amalia xxxP.S. I am really excited by this challenge…if a little bit ‘Petra’fied!!!!
