We safe and decent homes for families to build new lives, hopes and opportunities

Story

YAY! You've made it this far-now only a few more clicks and you will have helped me raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Given that I am fortunate to live in a very nice home, in a very nice part of London, I figured it was only fair to run the Royal Parks Marathon in support of Habitat for Humanity.

The cause of the charity is simple. They build houses for people who don't have one. Everyone is entitled to shelter, to take them out of the cold and protect them from the outside elements. Habitat for Humanity helps make this entitlement  a reality by going into communities and building homes for families who do not have one.

I hope you agree that this cause is a very noble and worthy one, and will help me reach my target of raising 500 pounds for this charity. Not only will I appreciate, but the family who gets home because of it will appreciate it as well.

And in case you are wondering-training is going well! I am up to 11 miles and feel that if I can do that two more times before the race I am in good shape. (with shorter runs in between of course!).

About the charity

We believe decent homes are the heartbeat of strong communities and so we also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
