Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in my first ever pole dancing competition (in the intermediate category) in order to raise money for Guide Dogs UK. It will be a fun and non-profit competition to support Trent Rag, who are in turn supporting Guide Dogs UK.
The visually impaired rely on Guide Dogs to experience the same freedom of movement that we take for granted every day, but unfortunately training guide dogs is expensive and at the moment there simply isn't enough funding to provide for everyone's needs.
Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is there to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well. Guide Dogs provides a range of mobility services and works to break down barriers so that blind and partially sighted people can get out and about on their own terms.
It costs Guide Dogs around £50,000 to support a guide dog from birth to retirement. However, the guide dog service receives no government funding. This is where you can help, even the smallest donation will make a difference to the life of a visually impaired person. If you can't donate, (I understand students struggle with money enough as it is!) please share, or take the time to show your support.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
