We support seriously ill children to lead a positive and happy life

Story

Hi all,

I've taken up a challenge to cycle from to (220 km) over just 2 days in early September...

Many of you will know that I have spent much of the past 6 years sitting at a desk and running on caffeine, sugar and the occasional drop of alcohol. Apparently this will not be enough to get me + 1 bike to in 2 days...!  So I have just over a month to get into shape and I'm totally motivated to achieve this - here's why:

I'm raising the money for "Richard House", 's first children's hospice, which provides care and support to children who are not expected to live into adulthood, as well as to their families.

If you spend 2 minutes reading the testimony below from a parent about what they have been through and their experiences with Richard House, I'm sure you'll agree that making this effort will be worth every penny :

I am about to embark on the biggest fitness challenge I have ever undertaken in a bid to raise money in support of the fantastic work that the team at Richard House carry out - we would greatly appreciate your support !

Thanks in advance

Amit

Another case study from Richard House:

Kay’s Story
Kay* is aged six and has Late Infantile Battens Disease which was diagnosed when she was three. She is visually impaired, immobile and cannot communicate verbally. She will be lucky to live beyond her sixteenth birthday. Kay’s dad brings her twice a week to the Phillip Green Day centre at Richard House Children’s Hospice. Here Kay is looked after by specialist staff and she enjoys many activities on offer. Kay gets frustrated about her deteriorating condition, but she is a very brave little girl - she particularly enjoys her sessions in the Hospice Multi-Sensory room. This is a special place containing soft furnishings and interactive equipment which projects changing colours and sounds. Here, kay experiences levels of stimulation or calm unavailable anywhere else; Kay’s muscles, normally tight and subject to spasms, relax and her breathing becomes more stable.
