This year I will be setting myself a major challenge to fly out to Romania with charity Cry in the Dark to deliver Christmas shoeboxes to vulnerable children and adults.

Where's the challenge?!

It has been a dream of mine since a young age to go abroad and help vulnerable people - something I never thought possible due to experiencing a life-long battle with debilitating fear, anxiety, OCD and panic attacks. However my whole life has been building towards this moment of breakthrough through God's incredible step by step provision - facing and overcoming a fear of flying, overcoming severe OCD that once had me house-bound to now living a positive, independent life and building the confidence in myself to step out in faith and push myself beyond my comfort zone, knowing God will see me through and use me and my own challenging experiences to bless the lives of others.

The work of Cry in the Dark is crucial in supporting Romania's most vulnerable communities - they rescued children with special needs from an orphanage where they experienced horrific neglect and maltreatment and provided them with a forever home where they now live independently as adults. They set up a children's hospice providing essential palliative care in a way that brings love and joy in the darkest times, and provide practical support to a local Roma community of approximately 200 families.

On our trip we will be sharing the love of Jesus through delivering food parcels and Christmas gifts.
