Story
In 2010, a crack commando unit of 7 beer-guzzling chaps will tackle the 3 highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours to raise much needed funds for an incredibly worthy charity, Make-a-Wish Foundation.
"Team Fat Chance" consists of 6 walkers (James Grice, Gareth Turner, Chris Connolly, Andrew Foley,Adam Bennett and Carl Doran) plus one dedicated driver (Lee Burgess).
The challenge is to climb Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafel Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales) in a gruelling 24 hour stint. Starting in Bonnie Scotland with Ben Nevis, the team will climb for approx 5-6 hours before driving for 5 hours through the night to Scafel in Cumbria. Another 4-5 hour climb awaits in the early hours of the morning, with head torches at the ready, before jumping back into the mini bus for another 5 hour road trip to Snowdon. Once we reach the pride of Wales (no, not Tom Jones!) we will still have another cheeky 4-5 hour climb to complete our mission. Time is tight, as several leg muscles will be, by the end of one very, very long day!
This challenge is not an easy one (especially for those of us who are/were arguably on the portly side!) and the team will be doing several training sessions in the build up. So if you do choose to sponsor us, you'll not only be sponsoring the challenge but the 6 months of training that has preceeded it.

The charity we are raising money for is the Make-a-Wish Foundation which raises money for terminally ill children so that they can give them a once in a lifetime trip to places like Disneyland etc. Is there a more worthy charity than terminally ill children? We dont think so, which is why we are working so hard to achieve our target of raising £1,500.
Hopefully if you are reading this you know one or more of the team personally and will know how hard this will be for some of us. If you dont then trust me when I say for some of us this is going to be torture. So please give generously.
It is worth noting that every penny you donate will go to charity. The team themselves will be paying for all of their equipment, mini bus rentals and accommodation along this journey so please give whatever you can for this fabulous cause!
