Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As you know we are attempting Trailwalker 2013 to raise funds for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. This will be the hardest thing any of us will ever do. Covering 60 miles in under 30 hours non stop. Doesn't sound much? Well the last 5 mile country stroll you did may have taken you just under three hours. Well imagine 12 of those back to back, through the night and whatever the weather. It's a tough challenge and one which we will have to prepare for thoroughly over the coming months.
Why Oxfam? Oxfam is a global movement of people passionate about ending poverty. Simple as that. Your money will help train farmers in poorer regions to improve yields and combat hunger. It will help train teachers which will give kids a better future. It will help combat the spread of needless disease and give families struggling to come to terms with natural disaster a better chance of survival.
Why the Gurkhas? For almost 200 years the Gurkhas have served our country and your support will help repay the debt of gratitude by supporting them and their families.
Why are we doing this? Equally simple. We want to put something back in. We want to do some good and we want a challenge that will test us to our limits.
What we are trying to achieve speaks for itself but we need your support. We have made the commitment in time, effort and expense but it is your financial support that will help us achieve our goals. Please do not turn a blind eye to those in need. Please dig deep and thankyou in anticipation.
