My route is as follows...

DAY 1 Tuesday 13th October  OVINGTON to BLANCHLAND.

Leaving Ovington and heading West along the Tyne Valley to Corbridge. Crossing the River and climbing up Prospect Hill, through Slaley Hall before dropping down to Derwent Reservoir, and the short walk into Blanchland.

DAY 2 Wednesday 14th October  BLANCHLAND to ALLENDALE

Heading West from Baybridge over the Moors to Allenheads, before following the River East Allen Northwards to Allendale.           

DAY 3 Thursday 15th October  ALLENDALE to GREENHEAD

Across the Allen Valley to the adjacent South Tyne Valley at Lambley before turning North to Greenhead on the Cumbria Border.        

DAY 4 Friday 16th October  GREENHEAD to BELLINGHAM

Starting East along the Roman Wall, following the route of The Pennine way heading North just before Housesteads and continuing upto Bellingham.

DAY 5 Saturday 17th October  BELLINGHAM to KIELDER

Moving up the North Tyne Valley to Kielder Water and following the Lake on its Northern Bank before reaching Kielder Village.  

DAY 6 Sunday 18th October  KIELDER to BYRNESS

Using the Forest Drive Route East through Kielder Forest to Byrness.       

DAY 7 Monday 19th October  BYRNESS to WOOLER

The hardest Leg of the Route climbing up the Cheviot Hills following the Pennine Way Route and then heading East dropping down through Harthope Burn before arriving in Wooler.      

DAY 8 Tuesday 20th October  WOOLER to HOLY ISLAND

Using the route of St Cuthbert’s Way on the walk North East to Holy Island.       

DAY 9 Wednesday 21st October  HOLY ISLAND to SEAHOUSES

Beginning the journey South rejoining the Mainland over the Causeway and following St Oswald’s way through Bamburgh to Seahouses.        

DAY 10 Thursday 22nd October  SEAHOUSES to ALNMOUTH

Continuing the Coastal Route through Beadnell, Newton, Dunstanburgh and Craster before arriving in Alnmouth.                            

DAY 11 Friday 23rd October  ALNMOUTH to LONGHIRST

The penultimate day and along Druridge Bay before turning inland at Cresswell and onto Longhirst.       

DAY 12 Saturday 24th October  LONGHIRST to OVINGTON

The final leg through Morpeth and onto Ponteland before reaching the Tyne Valley and returning to Ovington.
