Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In loving memory of my mother-in-law (Joan Page) I have committed myself to raising much needed money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sadly Joan passed away with breast cancer when my wife was only 26 and i was 25.
Its now been 26 years since our loss and there are still many people suffering with the crisis of cancer. The Macmillan Cancer Support Team warns that the number of people living with cancer in the UK will rise to an all time high of 2.5 million people this year.
No one should face cancer alone so this challenge allows us to collectively support this worthwhile cause and make a 'real positive difference' to change the lives of people affected by cancer.
I ask you kindly to dig deep into your pockets and embrace the fact that you can help change the lives of those who need the care and financial support from a disease that has and continues to have an impact on so many people living in the UK.
Please note that I have personally paid £450.00 as a contribution towards the trip which means that more than 60% of the £3,800 minimum sponsorship will be treated as a donation to Macmillan, and if I raise over £3,800 then 100% of the surplus will benefit the charity.
Macmillan is proud to have one of the best cost to income ratios in the charity sector, meaning more of the money raised is spent on vital services and not on trip costs.
