Story

Thanks for visiting Andy's JustGiving page.

Andrew died on the 2nd March 2022, leaving his 3 children, wife, family and friends devastated. A much loved gentleman with an amazing sense of humour and kind nature who will be impossible to forget!

Since then, The Russ Devereux Headlight Project have supported the children with play therapy and counselling as well as supporting Andrew’s family and friends. The support we have received has been crucial during the hardest of times.

To show our gratitude, Andrew’s 2 best friends Matthew Diegan and Chris Bacon; alongside Andrew’s wife Abigail with her friend Amy, & Andrew’s Brother Lloyd and his friend Scott are all taking part in The Great North Run to raise vital funds for the local charity.

We started by hoping to raise £1000 for this fabulous charity. When we raised that we aimed for £3000. Now as a group effort that’s been smashed so we’re pushing for a huge £5000 for this incredible charity, which will make a huge difference to them! Please help us achieve this as part of Andy’s legacy! He would be sooo proud of us and I’m sure watching over us completing The Great North Run! 🧡

*UPDATE* WE DID IT!! We completed the Great North Run to raise as much money and awareness for this amazing charity! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated - money that is directly supporting Andy’s 3 children, family and friends; but also other bereaved families to receive one to one counselling, play therapy, workshops, EMDR trauma therapy and also educating people about mental health and suicide prevention.

The target of £5000 would be a huge help for this charity but actually how they’ve impacted our lives and held our hand through such a devastating time, no amount would be enough to pay back! We are eternally grateful!

Well done to all the runners! 🧡
