Last run completed! Feeling good but worried it's going to be warm for someone used to running in gloves and a hat!!

For those of you who have not heard from me for sometime and are maybe recovering from the fact that I have entered the London Marathon, thank you for visiting this page.  As you may be aware I am a serving Lt Col in the Royal Artillery, currently working as a staff officer at Headquarters 2nd Division based in Edinburgh.

Whilst previously serving in the Ministry of Defence I shared an office with Rob Lyman, the Chairman of The Kohima Educational Trust (KET).  As a consequence, having already embarked upon the challenge of running the Marathon, I was very happy to agree to run on behalf of the Trust.  Serving in HQ 2nd Division, I was aware of the good work of this charity in supporting the education of the Naga children in recognition of their forebears who fought so bravely in Burma - I attach a link to the Trust's website below.  While the importance of service charities is at the forefront of everyone's minds at present, I feel it is also important to remember the work of smaller charities such as the KET, where apart from their needs being relatively modest, the need for our generosity is still compelling.

Despite this being my first marathon, I am optimistic that I will complete the event in a respectable time and hope that I am able to raise as much as possible for the good works of KET.

As you will see donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for your support.

About the charity

The trust was set up by veterans of the Battle of Kohima to honour those who fought and died in the Battle of Kohima and the Nagas who were their allies by assisting with the education of succeeding generations of Naga children.
