I'm doing Ironman Switzerland on 25th July.

I DID IT

Swim 2.4 miles in lake Zurich

1 HOUR 15 MINUTES

Cycle 112 miles around the lake and up and down some hills

4 HOURS 56 MINUTES

Run 26.2 miles in the city.

4 HOURS 18 MINUTES

TOTAL 10 HOURS 36 MINUTES

CROSSED THE LINE, GOT MY MEDAL...AND WAS SICK 

 

I was doing it for fun but having been asked by a few people which charity I was faising money for I have taken the hint and am now asking you for kind donations.  Rest assured that at some point on the 25th of July I will go through physical and emotional hell, however I will be comforted by the knowledge that you are help me to help poor little puppies and kittens across the country.

 

I nicked this story off the RSPCA website...an example of the good work they do.

'Our officers visited a dog breeder's address where they found Flo and Beth the Border Collies confined to a garage without light and proper food. Their puppies were found locked in suitcases in a cupboard under the stairs. Sadly it was too late to save some of the young dogs. The surviving twelve puppies, and their mums, were taken to the RSPCA Brighton Animal Centre. Flo and Beth were each given their own kennel where they were reunited with their puppies.

During the ten months it took for the dog breeder responsible for causing the suffering of these collies to be prosecuted the dogs remained in our care. Only once we had secured a conviction where we able to consider rehoming these collies. The dog breeder was given a lifetime ban from keeping animals and a twenty week jail sentence. Now, thanks to the combined efforts of our inspectors, animal centre and many more staff all of these collies have loving new homes.'
