We have been overwhelmed by the support & as we crossed the finish line we knew we had raised over £4200 for The Beacon. Thank you so much.

The weather was glorious, with a not a cloud in the sky it was the kind of weather Mum would have chosen for us, the sun shone, the air was cool and the breeze light.

The hard months of winter training really paid off and we made it through the finish line, but not without incident as Andy's right leg gave way completely at mile 12, an injury he had been carrying since the start we were relieved it held out for so long. The painkillers were called for as early as the 3rd mile. With a mile left to go we stuck at it, achieved what we wanted and hobbled over the line in tandem in 2hrs 19minutes and 26 seconds.

Thank you once again for such marvellous generosity, during the 'hard miles' along the Lower Bristol Road the second time around and especially along the incredibly messy last mile it really made a difference.

It means so much to us to know that people who will have to go through what our brave Mum had to endure will get the support they deserve at the Beacon and the donations you made to that cause kept us going. 

Lastly, thanks to our cheer squad who appeared to run most of the course taking photos and generally making the most excellent noise.
