In memory of Jim Sloan
We're holding three charity walks in memory of our dear friend and colleague Jim Sloan, who we so sadly lost to cancer in 2022. All the money we raise will be donated to Cancer Research UK and Only A Pavement Away.

Story

In September 2022, we lost my fabulous brother-in-law, Jim Sloan, to cancer.

Jim worked for St Austell Brewery in Cornwall.  This amazing company has allowed Jim's family and friends to link in with their fund-raiser for Cancer Research UK in March 2023: 1851 Challenge 'Walking for Jim'.

So, I will be taking on one of the Brewery's charity walks: The Proper Job Finish, a 10.5 mile walk from Fowey to St Austell on Saturday 25th March.  This will be in memory of Jim, one of the kindest and most cheerful men I have ever met.

Proceeds from this walk (and two others organised by St Austell Brewery) will, via the company's Charitable Trust, be given to Cancer Research UK and another charity chosen in memory of Jim, Only A Pavement Away.

I appreciate that many are going through difficult financial times, but if you are able to make a donation, I would be so grateful.  It will be going to most worthwhile causes and in memory of one of life's 'good guys'.  Thank you!

First set up in 2003, the  St Austell Brewery's Charitable Trust supports local charities, good causes and individuals across the South West. To find out more about the Trust click here: https://staustellfamilygroup.co.uk/media-press/our-charitable-trust/

PS 1851 is St Austell Brewery's founding year.
